so the posting schedule has slowed a bit. funny how that happens, eh? lots of stuff going on with life in addition to our little project here. work schedules get busy and other events get in the way of blogging....i'm actually real behind in updates.

remember our gas project a few weekends ago? after the whole pilot light fiasco and pg&e coming out, our oven decided to take a break from our kitchen life. it actually was kind of a jerk and just flat out gave up on life. lucky for us, we bought that dang home owners insurance plan and it covered our pissed off oven. the guy came out and spiffied it up quite a bit then taught curt how to take everything apart to clean it. and who can resist dismantling a vintage wedgewood?

he got it all shiny and gussied up. even the griddle works now....
what else? we finished up the moulding in the hallway...yes, that's a "tennis elbow" band that curt has around his elbow. poor guy's been all beat up. first the numb hand, now the elbow.we hung out in the sunshine and painted, painted and painted more moulding and baseboard. we did laundry, hung out in the sun and our neighbors' dog came over for a visit.we're done save for our bedroom. we still haven't figured out what we're gonna do with the bedroom floors so we're waiting with the moulding. we were thinking cork tiles but it's not as cheap as we thought and we're not so pleased with the whole fading-factor thing it has going on. we kinda got turned on to linoleum...thinking about it....

next weekend, we started in on a new project.
a massive endeavor...it started with our small meyer lemon tree and spread across the entire yard. we inherited 3 meyer lemon trees but one of them was dead, one was a nasty black bush of a tree and one was just overgrown beyond belief. we took out the dead one, trimmed down the nasty black bush to let some sun in and pruned the overgrown one. we're hoping the lemons like the attention and fatten up a bit. the tree is damn prolific and they're tasty but almost too tiny to even deal with....
