big weekend again. friday was paint day. saturday was paint day. sunday was move then paint day. oh and tomatoes and basil were planted. i started, curt helped and then the ladies came and took over (thank god). we will now be living on tomatoes, basil, basil and pesto and maybe some more basil.oh, and see that nice tree in front? that's no lemon tree....it's a persimmon tree!
curt's one request for the room colors was in the bathroom. he wanted a blue bathroom. personally i like a nice clean, white bathroom. but compromise is key and the bathroom is a small room so we now have a blue bathroom. it's grown on me. it's real purdy and is hatching many ideas for decorating....along with the mirror from g&p i think it could be real nice. more on that later. oh, did i mention the tiles the previous owner left for us? 3d fish? ugh...fine for now. i can live with them.
so then we come to "the little room". i had envisioned a nice pale pale robin's egg blue. curt voted for a brighter color and at the last minute, with no testing prior, i bought the brighter color. it's gorgeous. it's like standing in a tiny tiffany jewelry box with a nice white satin ribbon wrapped around. it's my favorite room so far. with the new floors it's gonna be incredible...pictures don't do it justice.
view from the hallway. this is now the blue side of the house:
bedroom isn't done yet, but here's a sneak peak.
i must have forgotten to take a photo of our gorgeous living room. it's really nice. coffee ice-cream colored walls. perhaps curt's finest paint job yet....photo soon.
on sunday our friend, j., came by with bobo and stormy.they went for a hike to the top of our property and came back with this lovely artichoke specimen. j. said he saw mt. tam, the golden gate bridge, the bay bridge and san jose from the top of the hill. yes, that's our view...
joey and lindsey came by and brought us more basil (but a different kind so we'll have a nice variety) and my favorite herb, cilantro....fresh from their garden!
boxes, desk and dresser waiting for their home:
sunday evening dinner. our first meal as actual habitants of the cabinhouse. kitchen is still the tool area, so it's pickles, sandwiches and beer for now.
camping out for the meantime. hopefully moving in to the house this week or this weekend. we still have to wrestle with the floor monster...
